A clean office does more than look good. It affects how your team feels at work, how clients judge your business in the first thirty seconds, and how long your floors, furniture and washrooms last. Yet many businesses hire a cleaner without knowing what a good service should look like.
A written scope of work. Good cleaning starts with a checklist specific to your space. It should name every area: reception, desks, meeting rooms, kitchen or break room, washrooms, entrances and floors. It should also say how often each task happens, whether daily, weekly or monthly.
Consistent, trained people. Ask who will be cleaning, whether the same people return each visit, and how new cleaners are trained and checked. At The Nestly Co., our field lead visits sites to check quality, so problems are caught early rather than only when a complaint comes in.
Proof the work was done. You should be able to see what was cleaned and when without having to ask. We document visits with time-stamped before-and-after photos and a service report. We also note anything unusual, such as a leak, a damaged fixture or a locked room we could not access.
Insurance and compliance. Ask for proof of liability insurance and WSIB coverage before anyone enters your building. The Nestly Co. carries Liability insurance and is WSIB registered.
Flexible timing. Most offices prefer evening or early-morning cleaning so staff are never disturbed. Your cleaner should work around your schedule and access arrangements.
